What is SabetoFLEX Accelerator Glue?

SabetoFLEX Accelerator Glue is a specialised PIB-based adhesive and adhesion promoter for EasyFLEX and SabetoFLEX system build-ups. It is used for sealing overlaps between PIB roofing membrane rolls and for preparing difficult or porous surfaces where standard adhesives may not provide sufficient adhesion.

The product is based on polyisobutylene, PIB and naphtha, and is developed for applications where adhesion, sealing and system compatibility are critical. It can be used in professional roofing and membrane systems where substrates, joints and overlaps must be carefully assessed before installation.

The Accelerator Glue is manufactured using recycled residual material from SabetoFLEX's patented recycling system and contains no PFAS. It must be handled in accordance with the safety data sheet and used with appropriate ventilation, protective equipment and project assessment.

Key product points

  • Areas of application

SabetoFLEX Accelerator Glue is used as a specialised glue and adhesion promoter in EasyFLEX and SabetoFLEX system build-ups where adhesion, sealing and material compatibility are critical.

The product is particularly relevant for PIB-based membranes, difficult substrates, porous surfaces and joints where additional focus on adhesion and overlaps is required.

    Typical applications include:

    1. Sealing overlaps between EasyFLEX PIB roofing membrane rolls
    2. Improving adhesion on difficult or porous surfaces
    3. Surface preparation before installing relevant PIB-based products
    4. Joints, overlaps and local detailing
    5. Professional roofing and membrane systems requiring system compatibility
    6. Projects where PFAS-free materials and circular production form part of the assessment

The substrate, surface condition, ventilation, temperature, material type and project requirements must always be assessed before use.

    How to use the product

SabetoFLEX Accelerator Glue is used as a specialised glue and adhesion promoter in PIB-based EasyFLEX and SabetoFLEX system build-ups. Typical uses include sealing overlaps between PIB roofing membrane rolls and preparing difficult or porous surfaces.

    Application notes

SabetoFLEX Accelerator Glue must be used in accordance with the relevant EasyFLEX or SabetoFLEX system specification.

It is intended for professional applications where the substrate, overlap, ventilation, temperature and material compatibility must be assessed before use. Always provide adequate ventilation and use the required personal protective equipment.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Store tightly closed in the original packaging in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place, protected from frost and direct sunlight.

Always consult the technical data sheet and safety data sheet before use.

    A typical workflow includes:

    1. Inspect and assess the substrate, overlap or joint
    2. Clean the surface and remove dust, dirt and loose material
    3. Ensure suitable working conditions, ventilation and protective equipment
    4. Apply SabetoFLEX Accelerator Glue to the relevant area
    5. Install, join or seal according to the selected system build-up
    6. Check the overlap, adhesion and finished detail
