When Walls and Plinths Need More Than Just Paint
Walls, plinths and other vertical surfaces are often treated as purely decorative finishes. In many buildings, however, the surface also forms part of day-to-day operation, with demands relating to moisture, wear, cleaning, temperature changes and regular use over time.
Where appearance meets performance
In basements, plant rooms, bathrooms, saunas, storage areas, institutions and other demanding environments, standard paint or conventional surface treatment may not always be enough.
The surface needs to contribute visually to the space while also performing reliably in everyday use. That is why the choice of surface treatment should take account of appearance, exposure, cleaning requirements and the condition of the substrate.
A structured surface with a practical purpose

ElaProof +SAND is a ready-mixed coating with sand, giving the finished surface a distinctive texture.
The sand content creates a more robust, textured finish, making the product well suited to walls, plinths and other vertical surfaces where both appearance and performance matter.
It can be used when renovating older surfaces, in moisture-exposed environments or in areas where a more durable finish is needed than standard paint can provide.
When standard paint is not enough
A structured coating is not only about appearance. In demanding environments, the surface can also contribute to a more durable, consistent finish that is easier to maintain.
This is particularly relevant where existing walls or plinths are worn, uneven or marked by previous repairs. In these cases, a conventional painted finish can quickly look inadequate, while a sand-filled coating can create a more uniform and robust result.
When condensation is a issue
Around some penetrations and technical details, the substrate may be damp or prone to condensation. This can occur around vapour barriers, ventilation, extraction systems and other installations where temperature differences and moisture affect the surface during installation.
SabetoFLEX Activator Spray can be used with butyl-backed products that need to be activated and adapted on site. It also helps displace surface moisture, making it easier for the installer to work with butyl-based details in damp conditions.
Hand-applied elastic coating for details, transitions, smaller areas and local sealing.
Spray-applied elastic coating for larger roof areas and professional coating projects where efficient, even application is an advantage.
Ready-mixed coating with sand for walls, plinths and vertical surfaces where texture, finish and durability matter.
Light-coloured, reflective roof coating for projects where surface colour, solar exposure and heat load are part of the assessment.
