ElaProof Cool Roof: Reflective Performance with Documented Environmental Data

ElaProof Cool Roof combines a light-coloured, reflective roof surface with documented technical performance and a new third-party verified EPD. This gives consultants, contractors and building owners clearer data for both product selection and environmental documentation.
A roof coating designed to reflect heat
ElaProof Cool Roof is a ready-to-use, one-component, water-based coating for outdoor surfaces. It can be applied by roller or high-pressure spray and is suitable for substrates including concrete, factory-coated steel, galvanized sheets, bitumen membranes, roof tiles and fibre-cement boards.
The white coating has an initial solar reflectance of 0.82, thermal emittance of 0.92 and an initial Solar Reflectance Index of 104. After laboratory ageing, the recorded SRI is 85.
Performance beyond reflectivity
The coating is seamless, UV-resistant, vapour-permeable and highly elastic, with a documented elongation at break of 500%. It is also watertight under EN 1928 and can be installed without hot work.
Its vapour-open structure allows the substrate to dry through the coating, while the reflective finish reduces solar heat absorption at the roof surface.
Environmental data for project documentation
The new ElaProof Cool Roof EPD is third-party verified in accordance with EN 15804+A2 and ISO 14025. It covers the product stage, transport, installation and end-of-life modules, giving project teams standardized environmental data for use in specifications and life-cycle assessments.
The EPD is published under EPD Hub reference HUB-6015 and is valid until 15 April 2031.
